Museums and Archeological Sites in Catalonia
Headed by the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia, the network consists of museums around Catalonia that manage the most important archaeological heritage of our land, both collections of his background as the archaeological sites that depend on it.
They are currently members of the network: Archaeological Museum of Catalonia, the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona, County Museum of Urgell (Tárrega) Gavà Museum, Regional Archaeological Museum in Banyoles, Museum of Archaeology Salvador Vilaseca de Reus, Museum in Badalona and Museum in Noguera (Balaguer).
The main objectives of the network are improved management of collections, improved facilities and the deployment of joint work programs. The actions to be carried out will affect the quality of facilities, practices and professional activities and services; in the documentation and preservation of collections, and awareness campaigns, among others.
The creation of the Network of museums and archaeological sites in Catalonia is one of the measures envisaged in the Plan Museum of Catalonia, submitted in 2008.
