Puig Castellar

The settlement is located at Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelonès), at the top of a hill in Serrelada de Marina, and overlooks the lower part of the Besós river.″

Puig-Castellar

It is a settlement of approximately 5,000 m² situated, once again, in a geographically strategic position. It was inhabitated from the 6th century BC until the beginning of the 2nd century BC, when it was abandoned because of the Second Punic War.

It contains two types of structures: some destined for living in and others more linked to the productive activities of the settlement. Near Puig Castellar but down on the plain there were at least two, mostly agricultural, communities that must have been dependent on this settlement. A large quantity of the objects found during the archaeological excavations are on show at the Torre Balldovina Museum.
