El Cogulló
The Iberian settlement is located on the town boundary of Sallent (Bages) on a hill that overlooks the River Llobregat as it crosses the Bages plain.
This strategic position makes it possible to see the settlement not only as the home of a group of people, but also as a market town, a meeting place, a place of protection for other nearby villages, a stopping place for travellers, and a position from which to control the surronding area.
The settlement was inhabited from the end of the Bronze Age until the 1st century BC. At present annual excavations are carried out to finf out more about the settlement.
