- The craft workshops that still mainitain the charm of the old trades. Especially the stonemasons of La Floresta and the ceramic potters of Verdú.
- The many medieval castles, such as those at Verdú, Guimerà -XI-XIIth centuries, and those at Ciutadilla, Maldà, Montclar (Agramunt), l'Espluga Calba and Albí -centuries XV-XVI. To complement this route it is worthwhile visiting the fortifications at Pilar d'Almenara (XIth century) and the Roman tower at Castell Nou d'Ossó.
Taste…
- On of the best olive oils in the world: the arbequina variety, eith Les Garrigues guarantee of origin. On sale in the many cooperatives of the region.
- The excellent cuisine. In particular the olla barrejada (mixed casserole), les faves (broad beans), els cargols a la llauna amb allioli (snails with cold garlic sauce), el cóc i la coca de recapte (traditional local "pizza" with peppers, herring and cooked sausage), and the orelletes (pastry/batter desserrt sprinkled with sugar).
- Wines with the Costers de Segre guarantee of origin. The red and the "young" white wines are especially recommended.

The local festivals typical of the region
- The Procession of Sorrows at Bellpuig, on Friday before Easter, l'aplec de les cassoles de tros (the pilgrimage of pans) on Juneda Easter, the feast of harvest, and beat at Fuliola, last weekend in June and the second weekend of July and Winepicking and Wines Festival at Verdun in mid October.
- The theatre festival at Tàrrega, la festa del torró d'Agramunt (nougat fair), the Santa Caterina fair at Arbeca and the festa de l'oli at Les Borges Blanques.
- The summer evenings thanks to the cicle Música als Castells, which organizes open-air concerts in the incomparable setting of the castles of the region.
