Presentation of Monograph 3 of Ullastret

Past Sunday January 22 at 12 pm was presented the third issue of the monographic series of Ullastret.

After a long period of work, this publication, which is part of the Ullastret monograph series, is presented with the intention of presenting the work process and the results of the research linked to a workshop on geophysical prospecting applied to archeology, celebrated in 2012 at the Ullastret headquarters of the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya.

The fieldwork linked to this workshop focused on the acquisition of large-scale data on georeferenced high-resolution cartography and was developed at the Illa d'en Reixac site, one of the settlements that are part of the archaeological site of Ullastret.

The final objective of this workshop was to form archaeologists and geophysicists in the different techniques of geophysical prospecting usually applied in archeology: (1) electrical resistivity, (2) magnetic prospecting, (3) georadar, (4) electromagnetic induction. Nevertheless, in terms of formation, the practical results have been very relevant and of considerable scientific importance in order to advance the knowledge of the Iberian city of Ullastret, especially from an architectonic and urbanistic point of view.

Later there will be a presentation at the MAC Barcelona on Thursday 2 February at 19pm. And to close the presentation events has organized a guided tour of l'Illa d'en Reixac, on Sunday 5 February at 11am, which will be carried out by the archaeologist Ferran Codina.
