It’s August 24th, 79 AD. The Vesuvius is waking up, but nobody remembers the last great eruption. For the citizens, the Vesuvius is just “the mountain”.What did the inhabitants of those unfortunate cities live when the volcanohit them? Pliny the Younger described it, so you can now relive it, through scenographicreconstructions, multisensorial effects, virtual interfaces, holograms, interactive systems and a unique 3D film with tridimensional soundand special effects.

The Museo Archeologico Virtuale di Ercolano is a cultural center of technology applied to Cultural Heritage and communication numbered among the most avant-garde centers in Europe and in the whole world. Now, in this unique exhibition, the visitor will immerse into an atmosphere that will allow him to witness those dramatic moments and relive an event that changed the story of the world.

  • Price: 3 €. From 65 years old and kids from 7 to 16 years old: 1,5 €. Handicapped, ICOM members and tourist official guides: free entrance.
